Presentation:
Who I am:
Lucas Sanz, 21 years old, from Spain, mainly interested in technology, art and semiotics.
How I learned:
Non formal education, learning with public knowledge.
My motivation:
As I mentioned earlier, my main interests are technology, art, and semiotics; astronomy ties in perfectly with these interests, from learning about its technical applications and the history of different cultures to the meanings associated with this knowledge.
Organizations:
Este workshop esta impartido en colaboración entre Inu Edu Lab + Zbor Hub
Objetive:
To convey my enthusiasm for learning new things and my interest in the sky, and to ensure that attendees don’t leave saying, “I’ve learned about astronomy,” but rather something much more valuable: “Tonight I know where to start looking.”
How will be the workshop:
This workshop focuses on providing a hands-on introduction to the night sky, including identifying constellations, navigating by the stars, understanding the movements of the sky, and exploring the cultural influence of astronomy, all using the interactive tools Stellarium and Universanbox.
ASTROLOGY & ASTRONOMY
Astrology and astronomy are not the same thing, although they are connected; astrology is an ancient practice that studies how the movements of the celestial bodies might influence people’s lives and events on Earth, On the other hand, astronomy is a science that focuses on understanding the universe, the planets, the stars, and celestial phenomena from a purely physical and mathematical perspective.
In ancient times, the two were closely linked because observing the sky was key to both disciplines, but over time they took different paths: astronomy remained rooted in science, while astrology focused on symbolic interpretation.
